Brief Overview

Always wanted to become a game ranger? Now is your chance to do just that but to ALSO get a chance to work as a game ranger. So not only will you gain a valuable and sought after qualification, but you will also get some working experience once you pass your theory and assessment exams.

Accommodation and Meals

You will be accommodated in dorm rooms with males and females separate. You will have a lounge area with a fire place and TV to use during your leisure time. There will also be an entertainment room available with a pool table, table tennis board, dart board and a Big screen TV.

You will receive 3 meals a day which will be prepared by the kitchen staff.

The course is run by a FGASA (Field Guides Association of Southern Africa) accredited training and examination centre and is conducted by professional trainers and assessors.

The course follows the FGASA syllabus, but you a will also get a chance to “volunteer” on the reserve as part of your practical training. Additionally, you will also do the first aid level 1 course during your training which will last approximately 12 weeks, depending on your level of skill and development. After this process, you will then work on a big 5 game reserve as a junior guide.

During your time at the project, you will cover different modules throughout your training. This theory will be coupled with some practical work around the reserve such as fencing, game captures and game counts, assisting with the predators and much more.

Please Note: The activities vary from time to time due to the weather.

Whilst every effort is taken on the project to ensure a structured program, we are sure that you can appreciate the fact that the project operates in a dynamic environment and therefore it is difficult to provide participants with a set itinerary. Should you however require further information in this regard, please feel free to contact us and we will be happy to assist you further.
